Accessibility Statement
218 Marketplace is committed to a storefront that everyone — including shoppers who use screen readers, keyboards only, magnification, or captions — can browse and buy from independently. We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the benchmark used under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III.
Keyboard & screen-reader support
- Every storefront feature — browsing, filtering, the cart, checkout, and reporting a listing — can be operated with a keyboard alone. A "Skip to main content" link is the first focusable element on every page.
- Dialogs (cart, report, and question forms) announce themselves to screen readers, move keyboard focus in when they open, return it when they close, and can be dismissed with the Escape key.
- Forms use labels tied to their inputs, images carry text alternatives, buttons and icon controls are announced by name, and headings follow a logical order without skipped levels.
- The storefront supports 200% text zoom and adapts to small screens without losing content or function.
Video closed captions
- Videos on product listings are required to include closed captions (embedded or burned-in) so deaf and hard-of-hearing shoppers don't miss out — the upload form tells every seller this before they publish.
- Listing videos that reach us without captions are returned to the seller for revision rather than published as-is.
Report a barrier
If anything on the marketplace is hard or impossible for you to use — with any assistive technology or setting — email contact@218marketplace.com. Describe the page and what got in your way. Accessibility reports are treated as defects: we confirm receipt within 5 business days and prioritize a fix.
Our accessibility practices follow WCAG 2.1 AA, the technical standard referenced under ADA Title III and the EU Web Accessibility Directive. This statement was last reviewed in September 2026. Questions? Contact contact@218marketplace.com.
