Notice & Action mechanism
- Anyone — shoppers, sellers, or visitors — can flag a listing or shop through the "Report" button on every product page and seller profile. No account is required.
- Every notice is acknowledged instantly with a unique reference number, and our trust & safety team reviews it within 2 business days.
- When a notice leads us to remove or restrict content, we issue a statement of reasons to the affected seller, who can appeal by replying to that notice.
- Copyright complaints follow our DMCA Notice & Takedown Policy; emergencies or illegal activity should also be reported to law enforcement.
Know Your Business Customer (KYBC)
- Every seller declares on their application whether they sell in a business capacity (a "trader") or only occasionally as a private individual.
- Business traders must provide their legal business name, trading address, and business phone number. These details are collected and reviewed before their storefront goes live — a trader cannot sell on the marketplace without completing this check.
- Verified business traders are labeled on their storefronts so buyers can see who they're buying from.
Fair design — no dark patterns
- No artificial urgency: we never show countdown timers, fake "other shoppers are viewing this" claims, or fabricated popularity. Stock labels ("only X left") always reflect real inventory.
- No trick choices or hidden opt-outs: add-ons are never pre-selected, and every choice — including declining — is equally easy to reach.
- No confirmshaming: leaving the cart, closing an account, or skipping a step is never framed to guilt you into staying.
- Privacy choices are one click away in the footer of every page, in plain language — see Your Privacy Choices.
Corporate structure & beneficial ownership
- The marketplace discloses its beneficial owners to the U.S. Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) as required by the federal Corporate Transparency Act.
- An internal register of beneficial owners and parent entity structures is kept current by the operator, and the FinCEN filing is updated within 30 days of any change in ownership or control.
- Beneficial ownership records are confidential and never published on the marketplace. Verified requests — from financial institutions or law enforcement — are handled through contact@218marketplace.com.
This report is published in line with the EU Digital Services Act's transparency obligations and our own marketplace values. Questions? Contact contact@218marketplace.com.
